Technology Advancement Center Partners with IT Acquisition Advisory Council

COLUMBIA, Md.The Technology Advancement Center (TAC), a cybersecurity nonprofit driving small business and academic engagement, STEM and workforce development opportunities, and proof of concept innovation, is pleased to announce an official partnership with fellow nonprofit, the Information Technology Acquisition Advisory Council (IT-AAC).

With shared mission sets related to advancing the technology capabilities of the U.S. government, TAC and IT-AAC will collaborate across resources and expertise in the private and public sectors to help government agencies meet the technology demands of the 21st century.

IT-AAC specifically aims to provide Congress, the White House, and Executive Branch IT Leadership with a trusted collaborative framework and transformation roadmaps to streamline the IT acquisition process and ensure the efficiency of critical mission elements dependent on IT. For example, information sharing and cybersecurity. These critical areas overlap with TAC’s focus on supporting government organizations such as U.S. Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM) and the Department of Defense (DoD) by extending the reach of innovative new cybersecurity solutions that address national security challenges.

Both nonprofits engage with individual citizens, small businesses and academia, as well as transformation minded senior leaders from government to drive innovation. With an extensive network of affiliates and partners across government and industry, plus experience and interests in critical areas of cybersecurity such as zero trust frameworks and cloud security, TAC and IT-AAC are well-positioned to accelerate positive change.

“IT-AAC is proud to join forces with TAC to expand our shared missions and contribute to solving the cybersecurity needs of the U.S. Department of Defense and other government agencies,” said John Weiler, Co-Founder & Executive Director of IT-AAC. “Our organizations are closely aligned, making this partnership a valuable resource to accelerate the digital transformation of government. Together, we will make significant strides towards revolutionizing the federal IT sector.”

Gregg Smith, CEO of TAC, added, “John has assembled an exceptional team at IT-ACC comprised of the best and brightest in their fields from both the public and private sectors. With TAC’s extensive resources and our own highly capable team, I am confident this partnership will result in new innovations that support the US government. We are eager to collaborate with IT-ACC and expand our role as an intermediary to small business, non-traditional entities and academic communities.”
