Our nation’s reliance on digital platforms has made cybersecurity more crucial to national security than ever before. Serving as the modern-day front lines, our cybersecurity capabilities protect the nation’s communications, economy, critical infrastructure, and more. As the cyber threat landscape continues to evolve, staying ahead of adversaries requires proactive measures and innovative solutions.
At the Technology Advancement Center (TAC), we recognize the crucial role that small businesses play in driving cybersecurity innovation and strengthening our nation’s cyber capabilities. That’s why we launched Small Business Wednesdays – a weekly initiative aimed at empowering the small business community to bring new solutions to government agencies and help solve the toughest cybersecurity problems facing our nation.
What is “Small Business Wendesdays”
Small Business Wednesdays by TAC offer a unique opportunity for small business owners to engage directly with our senior technical team and tap into TAC’s extensive network of influential partners in industry and government to help grow their businesses. Held every Wednesday from 1-4 pm, these personalized one-hour meetings serve as a platform for our teams to learn, collaborate, and strategically plan potential partnerships. We can accommodate unclassified or classified meetings.
Applications from small businesses across a broad range of technology fields are welcome, including artificial intelligence (AI), zero trust, encryption, hardware and/or software, graphic user interface (GUI) cybersecurity, and more. Whether you are a startup or an established business, we’re interested in learning more about your unique capabilities.
Our goal is to help small businesses gain valuable insight into the latest trends and possibilities within their sector and identify links between their business and the needs of government agencies like U.S. Cyber Command, National Security Agency (NSA), DISA and more.
What are the Expectations for Taking Part in Small Business Wednesdays?
Once you apply and are accepted for a meeting as part of Small Business Wednesdays, there are a few expectations to ensure a productive engagement. The TAC will have technical experts at the meeting and the small business should have an appropriate technical expert attending either in person or virtually to speak in depth to the technology. A brief amount of time will be spent on an overview of the company, but the bulk of the meeting will be on the technology.
The business should be prepared to show a demo of the product. Although the TAC is unable to provide funding, this will help our team better understand the product and its capabilities. Our team will ask a few questions to better understand how we can connect your small business to our network of partners and advise. We will keep your business and what we learned in our knowledge management system for inquiring opportunities.
