Technology Advancement Center (TAC) Announces Leadership Transition: Gregg Smith Joins Board of Directors, Chris Hollifield Appointed Chief Executive Officer

Columbia, MD  [Aug 26, 2025] Technology Advancement Center (TAC) today announced a pivotal leadership transition that underscores its commitment to strengthen the nation’s cyber workforce and drive innovation in defense.

Gregg Smith, who has successfully led TAC as Chief Executive Officer, will join the organization’s Board of Directors, continuing to shape TAC’s mission and growth strategy. Smith’s tenure as CEO was marked by a company rebrand, steady expansion of TAC’s training programs and advancing cybersecurity and defense technology capabilities for critical infrastructure sectors. 

“Gregg’s leadership as CEO has been instrumental in building TAC’s foundation and reputation as a trusted partner for government and industry,” said Linda Singh, TAC Board Member. “We are thrilled he will continue to guide the organization as a member of the Board of Directors.”

Stepping into the role of TAC’s Chief Executive Officer is Chris Hollifield, who previously served as TAC’s Chief Strategy Officer. With a distinguished 27-year career in Intelligence and Cyber Operations across the Department of Defense and the U.S. private sector, Hollifield brings unmatched expertise to the role.
