TAC's OT Skids: Cyber Training You Can Touch
Operational Technology (OT) Skids provide immersive, hands-on training with isolated critical infrastructure systems, equipping teams to effectively detect, defend, and respond to today’s industrial cybersecurity threats.
Real-World SCADA Systems, Mobile and Ready for Action
OT Skids are fully mobile, self-contained operational technology units designed to simulate real-world industrial environments. Built around a specific SCADA or OT use case, each tower delivers hands-on experience with actual industrial processes.
Whether it’s powering a hospital water system or operating a fully functional HVAC unit that responds to temperature changes, motion, or even water detection, the OT Skid puts real-world functionality at your fingertips.
The Skid aims to mimic a real-world industrial automation process that has been implemented by hardware such as a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Human Machine Interface (HMI), Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) and even a Remote Terminal Unit (RTU). All these components are installed on the mobile cart using standard industrial mounting hardware and wired to power supplies in the same way they would be in the real world.
Your Team Can Train on Our Pre-Built OT Skids or Request a Custom Build that mirrors your unique operational technology footprint.

Use Case: Cybersecurity Team Training with OT Skids
Defend What You Can See, Touch, and Understand
In focusing on OT and SCADA, the TAC understands that real-world environments are a superior experience for training and exercises over a virtualized environment due to the complexity, often poor documentation of industrial systems and the general lack of understanding of industrial cyber security. If we can touch it with our hands and see what happens when we ‘break glass’, we will remember the impact far more than if we see it on a PowerPoint slide.
Hands-on Training
Cyber teams can run red team/blue team exercises, incident response drills, or threat-hunting missions against live OT networks with real traffic, misconfigurations, and vulnerabilities—just like they’d face in the field.
Bridge the IT/OT Knowledge Gap
Most security professionals are trained in IT environments. The OT Skid gives them the hands-on exposure to ICS protocols, hardware, and behaviors needed to defend industrial systems.
Custom Scenarios for Critical Infrastructure
From water treatment to energy, each OT Skid can be customized to match specific sectors, helping teams train in environments that mirror the critical infrastructure they protect.
