Matt (Archie) Archibald served in the Canadian Army for 13 years as a signals intelligence specialist, including combat tours to Afghanistan and 4 years on exchange with the National Security Agency, where he was the founder of both the Coalition Support Cell and AFPAK Area Studies training curriculum. After his retirement, he has worked in a variety of management positions within defense and technology companies, including a 3 year deployment to Afghanistan (from 2017-2020), leading PAE’s National Maintenance Strategy training program.
He formerly led Raytheon’s Cyber Academy, focusing on both internal and external cyber talent development initiatives. He holds a Ph.D. in International Relations and National Security Studies from King’s College London and is currently pursuing a second doctorate in Organizational Psychology. He continues to lecture on a variety of subjects ranging from Critical Thinking and Structured Analytic Techniques to Afghan History. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and trainer.
