Inside TAC: Partnerships, Preparedness, and Progress

At TAC, progress isn’t measured in conversations alone, it’s measured in action. From expanding cybersecurity education to strengthening critical infrastructure resilience, this month reflects the power of collaboration across academia, industry, and government.

Here’s what’s happening inside TAC.

Expanding OT Cybersecurity Education: TAC + Capitol Technology University

TAC is proud to announce a new university partnership with Capitol Technology University, focused on advancing Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity education.

Through this collaboration, TAC will design and develop a dedicated OT cybersecurity lab within CapTechU’s brand-new facility. The environment will support TAC’s OT Bootcamp program while creating new opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience defending real-world critical infrastructure systems.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to preparing the next generation of cyber defenders with practical skills and immersive training environments.

Together, TAC and CapTechU are advancing:

• Development of a dedicated OT cybersecurity lab environment
• Hands-on training through TAC’s OT Bootcamp
• Expansion of OT-focused cybersecurity curriculum
• Real-world collaboration to solve industry challenges

Chris Hollifield, CEO of TAC, shared:

“By partnering with Capitol Technology University on a cutting-edge OT cybersecurity lab, TAC is accelerating workforce readiness and advancing national resilience in operational technology security. We are very excited about being part of the solution in empowering students to defend our nation’s vital systems against evolving cyber threats.”

By connecting education with operational cybersecurity environments, this partnership helps ensure students graduate ready to defend the systems that power our world.

Defend The Airport 2.0: Registration Now Open

Following the success of last year’s event, Defend The Airport 2.0 is returning June 17–18, 2026, bringing together cybersecurity leaders across aviation, government, and industry.

Defend The Airport is designed to move beyond theory, focusing on real-world collaboration, operational readiness, and protecting the critical systems that support global aviation.

Attendees will experience:

• Industry-leading speakers and aviation cybersecurity experts
• Collaborative discussions on emerging threats and resilience strategies
• Hands-on engagement with TAC’s airport cyber range environments
• Breakout sessions led by leaders across aviation, cybersecurity, and infrastructure protection

Registration is now open, and we are also welcoming organizations interested in sponsoring the event and helping drive collaboration across the aviation cybersecurity community.

Join us as we work together to strengthen the cybersecurity posture of one of the world’s most critical industries.

Strengthening Energy Security: Maryland Critical Infrastructure Workshop

This month, TAC hosted the State of Maryland Critical Infrastructure Cyber Resilience Workshop (MD CICW-II) from March 18–20.

The three-day workshop brought together leaders from government, industry, and utilities to strengthen cybersecurity resilience across Maryland’s energy sector.

Participants collaborated to:

• Strengthen cyber resilience strategies
• Share best practices across sectors
• Participate in hands-on exercises and tabletop simulations

Workshops like MD CICW-II play a critical role in TAC’s mission, creating environments where leaders can collaborate, test ideas, and improve operational readiness before real-world incidents occur.

Moving the Mission Forward

Progress in cybersecurity requires more than discussion, it requires collaboration, experimentation, and hands-on engagement across sectors.

From expanding OT cybersecurity education with Capitol Technology University to strengthening aviation and energy security initiatives, TAC remains focused on building environments where ideas turn into operational capability.

Thank you to our partners, collaborators, and the broader TAC community for continuing to push the mission forward.

Together, we’re not just talking about cybersecurity, we’re building the environments that make it stronger.
