Joel Waugh is an experienced executive, mentor, and cybersecurity thought leader with expertise in cybersecurity risk management, the application of modern risk frameworks, SOC modernization, and optimizing assessment and authorization processes. He collaborates closely with executive leadership and senior business managers to create dynamic environments that foster innovation and cybersecurity best practices.
With over 28 years of dedicated service to the Federal Government, Waugh’s career began as a Warrant Officer in the US Army before transitioning to a professional role at the FBI. Currently, he is responsible for safeguarding the cybersecurity and resilience of critical transit infrastructure in the National Capital Region, ensuring the safety of both citizens and visitors.
