Keisha Braden is a Cybersecurity Surface Inspector with the Transportation Security Administration under the Department of Homeland Security. Keisha earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and her Master of Science degree in Information Technology. Demonstrating the significant leadership and technical expertise developed as a part of her educational experiences, Keisha served as the Director of Information Technology for Kaplan, LLC.
For a period of 20+ years, Keisha advanced through the agency increasing her knowledge and skills while adding value to each team she had the honor of serving with. She started her career as an Officer working to secure the American public through airport threat detection. She then became a certified Behavior Detection Officer in 2008, where she was trained to identify and deter terrorist planning and execution through detection of terrorist operations using behavioral ques. She was then promoted into the Compliance organization as a Surface Inspector in 2015, where she was committed to assisting surface transportation stakeholders in mitigating risks identified through participation in TSA programs such as Risk Mitigating Activities for Surface Transportation, Baseline Assessment for Security Enhancement (BASE), Security Enhancement through Assessment (SETA), exercises, and other collaborative efforts. Due to her exceptional performance, Keisha’s responsibilities increased with a promotion to Lead Transportation Security Inspector within Compliance, in 2019. In 2022, Keisha transitioned to the position of Pipeline Security Surface Inspector. In 2023, Keisha reached the position of her true passion, Cybersecurity Surface Inspector. During her time in the Cybersecurity space, Keisha has reviewed, approved, and conducted cybersecurity compliance inspections of the Pipeline, the Freight Rail, and the Passenger Rail industries to ensure Cybersecurity compliance with federally issued Security Directives. She holds a Security + certification. She also conducts cyber engagements to enhance the security posture of all transportation modes.
