Cyber threats to U.S. critical infrastructure are increasing, particularly in sectors such as energy, healthcare, and transportation. In recent years, ransomware and state-sponsored cyberattacks have posed significant risks, with 99% of U.S. critical infrastructure organizations reporting security concerns due to these threats. Approximately 82% of these organizations are especially concerned about attacks from state-linked actors in China and Russia, as well as artificial intelligence–powered threats, according to research conducted in 2024.
