Advancing the Mission: TAC’s Strong Start to 2026

2026 is in motion at TAC and we’re just getting started.

From connecting federal talent with industry and government, to inspiring the next generation of cybersecurity leaders, to gearing up for Defend The Railroad, TAC continues to serve as a bridge across sectors where collaboration leads to impact.

Federal Bridge Collective: Connecting Federal Talent with New Opportunities in Partnership with DISA, US Cyber Command and The Cyber Guild

This January, TAC proudly partnered with the Federal Bridge Collective Networking Event to strengthen connections between federal tech and cyber talent and leaders across government and industry.

With participation from DISA, U.S. Cyber Command, and leading industry partners, the event highlighted TAC’s mission as a bridge for collaboration, providing a neutral, mission-focused space where federal professionals can explore meaningful opportunities, share expertise, and build relationships that advance national cyber readiness.

We are grateful for the overwhelming response and support from attendees and partners alike, all helping to make this initiative a success.

Inspiring the Next Generation at Cyber Saturday

The first National Cryptologic Foundation Cyber Saturday of the year was a tremendous success, hosted at TAC’s facility TheLink.

Students in 5th–12th grade, along with their guardians, experienced five dynamic, hands-on sessions, moving from curiosity to capability as they explored the world of cybersecurity.

The event was made possible by our outstanding partners:

  • US Cyber Range (Virginia Tech)
  • Girls Who Hack
  • Booz Allen
  • Association of U.S. Cyber Forces
  • Cyber Chats

Together, we inspired the next generation of cybersecurity leaders and gave them a glimpse into the exciting career paths ahead.

Defend The Railroad Is Almost Here

Momentum is building for Defend The Railroad in Maryland on February 10–11. This year’s program features technical breakouts and expert-led roundtables tackling the most pressing rail cybersecurity challenges.

Featured Breakout Sessions and Roundtables:

  • CrowdStrike – Secure by Design: Governing Workforce GenAI and Agentic AI Development
Explore how federal agencies like Amtrak and the FRA adopt generative AI while balancing innovation with governance, compliance, and operational trust.
  • Cylus – The Dual Edge of AI in Rail Cybersecurity: Unlocking the Future for Attackers and Defenders
Discuss the practical applications of AI in rail cybersecurity—where it helps, where it introduces risk, and how to implement guardrails supporting human judgment.
  • Armis & GuidePoint Security – Beyond Air-Gap: Transitioning Rail Infrastructure to an Identity-Centric Zero Trust Architecture
Examine the shift from legacy “implicit trust” models to Identity-Centric Zero Trust, including managing machine identities and balancing rapid, secure access with operational needs.
  • Bureau Veritas – Game Day Disruption
Step into a realistic cyber crisis simulation during a multi-vendor attack at the FIFA 2026 World Cup, collaborating under pressure to assess risk, manage communications, and make critical operational and cybersecurity decisions.
  • Claroty – Mind the Gap: Securing the Silent Infrastructure That Powers the Journey
Analyze the cybersecurity of traction power, station life-safety systems, and other critical infrastructure, using a unified Cyber-Physical Systems approach to prevent minor disruptions from cascading into major network-wide service outages.

We are grateful to CrowdStrike, Cylus, Armis, GuidePoint Security, Bureau Veritas, and Claroty for bringing their expertise and leadership to these sessions, ensuring attendees gain practical strategies, hands-on experience, and a deep understanding of today’s rail cybersecurity challenges.
